Explore God's Love

I wrote these stories for my own children. It was 2010, they were younger, and I wanted to teach them what God has been teaching me about Himself in His Word. I wanted them to see that God is a loving and gracious God.

My children (and their father) sin, ultimately because we don’t believe God is good and loving. When I sin, I believe that something or someone else promises more good and more love than God. If I knew how infinitely and incredibly loving and good God is, I would be less inclined to stray from Him and more quickly inclined to return to Him when I do stray. That is what I wanted my children to grasp from God’s Word.

PS: You can learn more about why I wrote God's Love: A Bible Storybook in my interview with Andy Naselli here.

In this colorfully illustrated storybook, your children will discover 120 Bible stories highlighting God's love—from before Creation to the death, resurrection, and ascension of Christ. The stories for this Bible storybook are part of a larger preschool curriculum (Exploring God's Love). With preschoolers in mind, the style is simple and fresh, using everyday, non-churchified language. This approach aims to make these stories more readily accessible, especially to younger readers. People Are Saying

""This 120-picture iPad app of the whole Bible for children is astonishing for 99 cents.” -John Piper, Founder and Teacher, Desiring God; Chancellor, Bethlehem College & Seminary

"Our kids have enjoyed both the print edition and the app, so I’m happy to recommend it to others.” -Justin Taylor, Executive Vice President of Book Publishing, Crossway

"I can’t peel my daughter away from this storybook. She loves it. I don’t think it’s a preference necessarily of the story above any of our other storybook Bibles but she loves to have it read to her. Most nights before bed I can find her sitting down and listening to it for 15-20 minutes. We’ll wrap it up with Bible reading and prayer. I have found the God’s Love app complementary and engaging." -Mathew Sims, Writer and Freelance Editor; author of A Household Gospel; blogger at Grace for Sinners (RSS)

"It’s well-done: very understandable for young children and theologically informed." -Andy Naselli, Assistant Professor of New Testament and Biblical Theology, Bethlehem College & Seminary

"We purchased the iPad app last summer and then the print book for Christmas, and we’ve really enjoyed both with our daughter." -Phil Gons, Vice President for Bible Study Products at Faithlife

"Our kids dove into God’s Love with unusual enthusiasm. Perhaps it was the fresh artwork that drew their attention. Or perhaps it was the author’s biblically-faithful and age-appropriate retelling of classic Bible stories from a Christ-centered perspective. Or perhaps the Lord is awakening faith in them. Maybe it’s a combination of all three. But as a dad I was thrilled with my children’s response to God’s Love. One of my girls read it straight through, so I asked her what she thought of it. She offered a single-word reply. Awesome. Christian parents are constantly looking for new ways to communicate the gospel to their children. Our family has greatly benefited from books like Sally Lloyd-Jones’ Jesus Storybook Bible and David Helm’s Big Picture Story Bible. But truth be told, we could use a dozen more resources like it. If you loved those books, you’ll love God’s Love, too." -Matthew Hoskinson, Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church, New York City, and author of Assurance of Salvation: Implications of a New Testament Theology of Hope
